Network Engineer

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Complete engineering tasks as assigned with a focus on designing SD-WAN solutions that fit customers use cases and WAN environment
  • Assist with the implementation, testing, and rollout of new services and the support of active services
  • Provide on call support to Network Operations Center for support issues that require advanced troubleshooting
  • Diagnose and correlate complex network problems with a focus on WAN issues. Identify root causes and develop remediation strategies for troubles
  • Document, approve, and track network changes
  • Drive continual improvements to operational processes and technology
  • Communicate with cross-functional teams to achieve project results
  • Communicate engineering project status, including dependencies, to internal customers to set and meet expectations
  • Position requires making presentations, training users in complex topics, and interacting positively with upper management, colleagues, and customers

Qualification Requirements:

  • Thorough understanding of Layer 1 to 3 networks including fiber, optics, VLANs, MPLS/VPLS, BGP, OSPF, SD-WAN and related networking technologies and protocols
  • Practical SD-WAN design and implementation experience required
  • Experience with Juniper, Cisco layer 2/3 hardware, and firewall concepts preferred
  • Experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 network test and turn-ups
  • Extensive understanding of Layer 3 traffic engineering and Layer 2 traffic management
  • Possess poise, confidence and the ability to think quickly
  • Time management skills – Ability to multi task and meet multiple timelines
  • Team player with a constructive perspective, committed to the success of the group
  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience, preferably working for service provider network or MSP

Enterprise Account Executive

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide sales functions to introduce Point5 services to existing and potential customers
  • Responsible for scheduling and attending sales meetings/calls to present Point5’s value proposition
  • Manage individual sales pipeline and develop account strategy to drive revenue and growth
  • Ensure wide and deep account relationships to ensure key alignment in all necessary functional areas of the carrier customer Develop strong relationships with decision makers and influencers within accounts
  • Assist the Point5 team in providing high touch and responsive support to Point5 customers through all phases of engagements

Qualification Requirements:

  • 5 plus years of experience in sales within the telecommunications industry
  • Sales experience with Layer 2, Layer 3, firewall WAN Optimization and SD-WAN hardware platforms such Cisco, Juniper, Silver Peak, Riverbed is a plus
  • Display veteran prospecting, networking and business development skills
  • Strong presentation development and delivery skills are a must
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain Point5 services/technology in understandable terms
  • Must demonstrate experience in negotiating and closure of deals
  • Must demonstrate experience in developing and managing partner, vendor and customer relationships
  • Knowledge of facilities based fiber business within our footprint
  • Possess poise, confidence and the ability to think quickly
